Monster Island, The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster, was released at the same time as Godzilla King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island on which a monster might be found; the monster is, of course, Monster Island.


As this is a film about an asylum, it has a budget comparable to a large kid's meal and utilizes it lightly, concentrating on a few human characters and filming all of the (original source) big stars' parts in one location during lunch break. We must not forget that this movie is a kaiju film and they do well in that regard so maybe The Asylum will be a good choice.
